I am a wife, a mother, a daughter, a sister, and a friend. I’m the neighbor who keeps bringing over baked goods ’cause I want to be friends! I love chocolate, music, laughing till I cry, family (those last two usually go hand in hand), warm blankets, creating anything, food, and trees. In no particular order. Life always brings with it a special set of blessings and challenges. Creating new things, making things that are old and haggard beautiful again, and capturing life through a lens help me enjoy my blessings and rise above hardships.
From a very young age I was taught that I could do anything, and I believed it. I have fearlessly tried many things over the years (my mother says this is one of my greatest strengths. but she’s my mom. she has to say that) some successfully and most not so successfully. When my son, Asher, was born in 2012 I looked at him and I felt something that I wanted to feel forever. I wanted to experience those sweet moments over and over again, so I snapped picture after picture. Soon enough a friend with an eye for photography (the same one who took the photo of my family that was on the “button” you pressed to get you to this page) helped me out. She introduced me to photoshop, lent me a book, and suggested I buy a DSLR. I did. And my life hasn’t been the same since. Kylee, I’ll get that book back to you soon. Maybe…
Every portion of life is full of moments to remember. Moments that should be wrapped up in a nice package so they can be enjoyed for years. Photos are not only images. They are feelings. They are sights and sounds. Smiles and laughter. Life. That is why I do what I do.
